The idea
A description never names its subject — a city, a person, a film…: ten two-letter fragments, torn from the description and from the subject's name, end up mixed in one tray. Place each in its correct blank to restore the description, then the name.
The goal Restore a description, then guess the name it hides.
How to play
Animated example
-
Read the description
A short description evokes a subject — a city, a person, a film… — without ever naming it; the theme is shown above the answer. Pieces have been torn from the text and from the name.
-
Place the fragments
Ten two-letter fragments wait in the tray. Drag a fragment onto a blank to fill the seven blanks in the text (or click the fragment, then the blank).
-
Reveal the answer
The last three fragments complete the name. Everything in place? The riddle is solved.
Good to know
- A misplaced fragment can be moved or sent back to the tray at any time.
- Reveal fills everything in at once.
About the tagline
“A rid__e in pie__s”: riddle is missing two letters and so is pieces, just like in the game, where the description is cut into two-letter fragments to drop back into their gaps. The name simply says what you handle: fragments, small pieces of a text to rebuild.
